MY RIDE OR DIE TOP FIVE HEALTH PRODUCTS

I’ve been receiving a bunch of DMs regarding my favorite products and brands in the kitchen; why I love them and what the benefits are. So I figured I’d do a rundown of my top five ride or die products that are so good they rival Sydney (kidding, obviously nothing or no one, sorry husband, will ever trump the queen – a.k.a my dog!). Okay, back to the products!

1.Collagen Peptides How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height. But seriously, I have a scoop or two every day! Why you ask?
Superficial reasons: my hair has been stronger (hello, this isn’t my natural color and this mane goes through a lot on the regular: heat, color, sweat...), my nails NEVER break and I very rarely breakout anymore– hello glowing skin.
Collagen is the most abundant protein (yes, it’s a protein!) in the body and, as we age, collagen production declines — it’s declining as you read this, ugh. Adding collagen to your routine helps regenerate your skin, hair, tendon, cartilage, bones and joints. But how?!
Collagen consists of amino-acids: glycine, proline, hydroxyproline, and arginine. Amino acids are building blocks of proteins and both these guys (amino acids and protein) are essential for the structure, function and regulation of our body’s tissues and organs. They work to keep you strong, healthy and youthful! Collagen provides the infrastructure of the musculoskeletal system, so it helps you move and helps with your athletic performance!

Yes, plain ol lemons, but there is nothing plain about them! I start every day with warm lemon water even if I’m traveling! Why? Because this little citrus beauty helps hydrate and jump start my day. Here’s why I love them:
They’re a great source of vitamin C and potassium; vitamin c works to boosts your immune system & potassium excites nerve and brain function.
They aid in digestions.They’re high in minerals and enzymes and can help flush the digestive system and rehydrate the body; warm lemon water tricks the liver into making bile, which helps food move easily through your body and gastrointestinal tract.
They improve skin thanks to high levels of vitamin C in lemons, and we all know water is your skin’s BFF.
Lemons aid in weight loss. They’re high in pectin fiber, which works to fill you up and fight off those hunger cravings.
Bonus: lemons are also high in calcium, phosphorus and magnesium.
3. Chia seeds
They seem so boring, don’t they? They are anything but boring! They are like magicians, not only do they make plant pets (chia pets), they keep you fuller longer!
Rich in omega-3 fatty acids – helps decrease inflammation and increases the skin’s elasticity.
Super-high in fiber, providing 10 grams per ounce, so they help you balance your insulin levels, aid in digestion and keep you fuller longer!
The soluble fiber acts as a prebiotic that feeds friendly gut bacteria, so it’s good for your gut!
High in antioxidants, iron, and calcium
High amounts of linoleic acid, a fatty acid that helps the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K.
For everyone whose still on the milk bandwagon for calcium: they contain more calcium than milk!
Nutrient-dense with energy-boosting power
I love to sprinkle them on salads, entrees, smoothies and even in water! Yes, water! They absorb nine to 12 times their weight in water. I also love a chai seed pudding! I buy my organic whole chia seeds either on amazon or at TJ Maxx because they’re so cheap!
4. MCT Oil
MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides, a type of fatty acid (saturated) that is derived from coconut oil.
It’s a supercharged fat that improves fat burning and mental clarity.
It’s a very potent antioxidant with anti-microbial properties.
Unlike omega 6s (inflmmatory oils), which are transported to the lymphatic system, MCT is directly absorbed into the blood.
It burns more calories and fat, and reduces fat storage. Don’t believe me? McGill University carried out a randomized control trial to compare the effects of medium-chain triglycerides to long chain. Those who ingested MCT lost more body fat, improved their metabolism and curbed their appetite (hormonally hungry).

It significantly improve the memory and overall brain health of people with functional brain problems.

5. Primal Kitchen Dressing
I’m literally never without this dressing for two reasons: the ingredients are seriously on point, and lazy nights when I don’t want to cook, I reach for these!
I don’t cook every night, and there are nights when it’s a struggle to even make a salad, so being able to throw so spinach, avocado, safe catch tuna and Primal dressing in a bowl makes life so much easier!
